Overview
Sermorelin is a synthetic growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH) analog used off-label to stimulate endogenous growth hormone production in adults seeking improved energy, sleep, body composition, or anti-aging benefits. Unlike recombinant GH, sermorelin encourages physiologic pulses and is administered via nightly subcutaneous injections (typically 0.2–0.5 mg).
Common Reasons to Seek Care
- Age-related decline in energy, libido, or muscle tone
- Desire for adjunctive support during hormone replacement, weight loss, or athletic recovery
- Sleep disturbances or cognitive fog despite lifestyle interventions
- When to seek treatment: After endocrine evaluation rules out GH-secreting tumors, uncontrolled diabetes, thyroid disease, or other contraindications. In-person care is required for active cancer, pregnancy, severe sleep apnea, or insulin-dependent diabetes (A1c ≥9%).
